2016 Langhorne Creek Montepulciano

Montepulciano is gaining plenty of traction as the go-to wine for any day ending in “Y”. Soft tannins held together by juicy purple fruits, it’ll give you a thirst for more.

For the second year running, this variety originating from central and Southern Italy has captured our attention and once more confirmed Langhorne Creek as an ideal growing region for this emerging Italian variety.

Hand harvested in late March and fermented in open vats with native yeast, this wine has a captivating dark red colour. Flavourful and delicate, this medium body Montepulciano offers aromatic notes of vanilla, cherry liquor and black pepper, followed in the mouth by intense boysenberry and dark cherry, earthy and smoky characters. Well balanced with subtle dry tannins and a persisting length all contribute to the completeness of this wine.
